Spice Edge is in private mainnet testing, extending Spicenet’s brokerage network into coordinated trading and portfolio risk across venues.

The world’s financial markets are moving onchain. More assets, applications and trading venues create more opportunity, but they also make the path from capital to a trade harder to navigate. A trader may find the right market in one place, hold funds in another and manage related positions at several venues. Each connection adds work. Each separate margin account can leave capital sitting where it is least useful.
Brokerages have long helped people connect to markets and put capital to work. Spicenet built a brokerage network for this new era. Spice Flow is live today, helping applications connect users and funding across supported chains. Spice Edge is the next chapter: trading across venues and making better use of eligible capital. It is now in private mainnet testing as development continues.
Spice Edge is being built as a composable execution SDK and cross-venue, cross-asset margin protocol spanning DeFi and CeFi. The aim is to give applications a way to coordinate trading across supported venues without building a separate connection for every market they want to serve.
Picture an application whose user wants to hold a long position at one venue and a short position at another. Today, the application must account for different venue workflows and keep track of both positions. Edge is designed to bring those actions into a more coherent experience, with a shared view of the positions even though they remain at separate venues.
Capital efficiency matters most when markets move quickly. Edge is being designed to consider eligible positions together rather than treating every position as an unrelated line item. Pledged collateral, portfolio stress and account controls determine eligible buying power. This approach could let qualifying exposures offset one another in the portfolio risk view, subject to the controls that govern the account.
Traders fund their own margin at each venue, and collateral remains separate across venues. Edge’s model includes bounded shortfall protection for eligible portfolios, alongside venue-level margin requirements and account controls. The aim is to connect the portfolio view while preserving the boundaries that make each venue work.
The longer-term vision is a financial application where market access, execution and buying power feel connected, even as the underlying markets stay diverse. Flow shows part of that future in use today. Edge is extending the brokerage network from getting capital to an action toward coordinating trading and portfolio risk across venues.
Spice Edge remains under construction. We will share supported venues and availability when they are ready. For a closer look at the design, explore Spice Edge. If you are building a financial application and want to discuss the next chapter, get in touch.
